More than a wrapped bath, Le Rituel du Bain Sensoriel ® - The Sensory Bath Ritual - is a global postpartum support workshop, through the sensory experience of bathing.
Depending on your family's and baby's history, I create a tailor-made ritual that enables you to bond with your newborn and give you confidence.
Thus, you can share a moment of pleasure, well-being and connection in family. This suspended moment enables your newborn to release tension and calm down. It can also help you find your place as a young parent.
Throughout this workshop, I give you tools, but I never do it for you: you are an actor / actress for the whole duration of the ritual. You already have in you everything your baby needs. I am happy to show you gestures that you perform simultaneously with your baby.
You can then reproduce this ritual alone at home, in complete privacy, confidence and security.

Why offering yourself this ritual?
For newborns, from (4 to) 7 DAYS and up to 2 (and a half) MONTHS.
To whom is it intended for?
For babies born prematurely, the « corrected age » is taken into account.
Why not older?
Because from 2 months, the child enters a more intense phase of awakening and interactions with the outside world. Their needs are changing: they are starting to enjoy free bathing and playing in the bath.
Subject to medical contraindication and if baby accepts swaddling and bathing
The combination of TOUCH and WATER was the first stimulus they received. They are secure markers for them to feel safe. Throughout the ritual, TOUCH also enables the baby to become aware of the limits of their body.
If their mother is present, the baby is also attentive to her presence, they have been familiar to her SMELL for 9 months.
They HEAR and recognize their parents' voices, perceive their interactions and the way they talk to them.
During the ritual, your senses are awake too. You:
- TOUCH your baby: bath and massage are conducive to fluidity and ease of movement.
- LOOK at them: you can take the time to observe them, to continue to get to know them.
- LISTEN to you newborn’s breathing, understand what is happening to them to so as to meet their needs (containment, regrouping, rolling up, etc.)

This LISTENING TIME enables us to understand and anticipate your baby’s reactions during the bath in order to better ADAPT ourselves TO THEIR NEEDS.

BEFORE BATHTIME
I SHOW you THE GESTURES and guide you throughout the bath and at YOUR BABY’S OWN PACE.
Our hands first rock your baby together, then very quickly, I step back to let you enjoy this MOMENT OF CONNECTION AND BONDING with your baby.
During their bath, your baby RELAXES and soothes themself. It is a moment of RELEASE OF TENSIONS AND EMOTIONS.
DURING BATHTIME
We keep on with a GENTLE exit from the bath.
Then I offer you a cocoon moment made of your SKIN TO SKIN with baby, an introduction to FOOT REFLEXOLOGY and a MASSAGE of YOUR BABY’s lower body.
