Mamas' Pause

MAMAS' PAUSE : A NEW PROJECT IN THE MAKING

This new support space for the first months with yout baby will open soon in Sartrouville, just minutes from Maisons-Laffitte.

The necessary steps are currently underway to create a safe and nurturing environment tailored to the needs of young babies.

If this approach resonates with you, feel free to get in touch to learn more or to be informed when Mamas' Pause opens.

TOO MANY MOTHERS still navigate the postpartum period FEELING ALONE. You hold, rock, soothe, comfort, feed, reassure, and care. YOU ARE WITH YOUR NEWBORN day and night, GIVING SO MUCH OF YOURSELF to your newborn, while so often lacking the support you need.

With all these new responsabilities, many mothers find themselves without the time, space, or energy to reconnect with themselves - to remember who they are beyond being a mother.

I know this because I witness it every day during in my work as a doula, supporting mothers through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period - and because I have experienced it myself. I too have silently known the LONELINESS, the EXHAUSTION, and the LOSS OF IDENTITY and SENSE OF DIRECTION that can come with early motherhood.
I was deeply grateful for this new role that was mine, and it brought me so much joy and fulfilment in many ways. Yet, at the same time, I felt disconnected from a part of who I was.
Alone, undervalued by society, sometimes simply moving through the days on autopilot.

My mistake at the time was believing that I could manage everything on my own, that taking care of myself was secondary. I measured my own wellbeing by my ability to meet my baby's needs and by seeing that my baby was happy. I convinced myself that it was okay to give myself completely, without limits, to this little person who depended on me.
But CARING FOR YOURSELF caring for yourself as a parent IS NOT SECONDARY.
Beyond the countless benefits for you, for your mental health, and for your own fulfilment, caring for yourself is also what allows you to be truly present and give the best to your baby.

WHY MAMAS' PAUSE WAS CREATED

a simple observation

WEEKLY SUPPORT FOR YOU, LOVING CARE FOR YOUR BABY

WHERE 2 EXPERIENCES COME TOGETHER, IN SERVICE OF BABIES & THEIR PARENTS

Before becoming a doula, I spent 10 years caring for young children as a LICENSED CHILDCARE PROVIDER in France. Throughout those years, I had the privilege of supporting many families in this precious role. Holding, soothing, reassuring, nurturing, and encouraging discovery. And I found so much joy in this work.
I continued to expand my knowledge and regularly updated my understanding of child development and attachment theory. I have a deep understanding of babies' physiological and emotional needs.

My work as a DOULA has only confirmed how deeply important these early months around birth are - a time when mothers need to be surrounded, listened to, and supported.
As a perinatal profesional, I have a deep understanding of the specific challenges of the postpartum period, the needs of new mothers, the importance of emotional support around birth, the realities of breastfeeding, sleep deprivation, and the need for a supportive network...

This is why I created THE KIND OF SUPPORT YOU'VE BEEN MISSING. A WEEKLY, SAFE, NURTURING PLACE for your baby so you can:
  • Enjoy a few hours for yourself without having to organise complex childcare arrangements.
  • Take time to reconnect with yourself, to rest and recharge
  • Feel supported throughout this important transition
  • Have the peace of mind of knowing that your baby is welcomed and carde for by someone who understands the needs of young babies and the emotional realities of the postpartum period.

I welcome  babies from their early weeks of life up to 6 months old (with the end of care corresponding to the child reaching 6 months of age).
This period represents a very specific stage for families: parents are still getting to know their baby, and their baby's needs remain very present. Daily life is often still centred around the baby, and support networks are not always fully established.
It is a time when parents may need space to breathe, time to reconnect with themselves, and the reassurance of regular support, while knowing that their baby is being welcomed with gentleness and respect for their individual rhythm.
Mamas' Pause was created to offer support that is specifically adapted to this important transition - a time when parents need to be able to rely on a trusted and caring environment for their little one.

How does Mamas' Pause work?

Mamas' Pause is a REGULAR SUPPORT SERVICE, thoughtfully designed around the needs of both young babies and postpartum mothers.

Every aspect has been carefully considered to respect the physiological and emotional needs of young babies, while also recognising the realities parents experience during this profound transition.

SUPPORT YOU CAN CHOOSE WHEN YOU NEED IT
Mamas' Pause was created as a supportive resource for parents. It is not about encouraging separation from your baby. Rather, it offers regular, reliable support that you can draw on whevener you feel the need.
This time can offer you the opportunity to rest, take care of yourself, reconnect with your own needs, or simply know your baby is being warmly welcomed and cared for in a safe and nurturing environment.

why babies from birth to 6 MONTHS?

why a 3-MONTH SUPPORT?

Mamas' Pause is designed as a regular weekly appointment as a regular weekly appointment that unfolds over time, with your baby welcomed into my home one a week for 3 months.
This creates a true period of ongoing support, built around continuity rather than occasional help.
This consistency creates the conditions for your baby, you and me to gradually build familiar routines, trust, and a sense of connection.
It also reflects a stage when family needs evolve quickly, as the first months of a baby's life require a great deal of presence, flexibility, and adjustment.

why weekly support?

The first months with a baby can be intense and unpredictable. Being able to rely on a dedicated time of support every week means knowing that there is a space for both you and your baby. It offers a steady point of reference in your daily life as new parents: a regular, planned time you can count on week after week to take care of yourself, rest, reconnect with yourself, or simply catch your breath.
Over time, this regular rhythm helps me become more familiar with your baby's habits, cues, and needs, so that I can offer care that is increasingly responsive of them.

WHY THESE CHOICES?

WHY A MAXIMUM OF 3 BABIES?

The first months of a baby's life are a time of incredible richness, but also of great vulnerability.
Every baby has their own rhythm, their own needs, their own way of being soothed, falling asleeep, communicating, and connecting with others.
Drawing on my 10 years of experience as a licensed chilcare provider, as well as my work supporting families as a doula, I wanted to create an environment where each baby can be welcomed individually, with respect for their development and their specific needs.
This is why I have chosen to welcome a maximum of 3 babies during each day of care in my home.

THE STEPS leading up to

your first session

1- A first conversation

Your baby's regular days with me then begin, following the schedule we have agreed together: one fixed day each week for 3 months.
We take time to talk about your baby before and after every visit, helping to ensure the continuity between your family life at home and your baby's time with me.

2- A meeting to get to know each other

AT MAMAS' PAUSE

Every family is unique. Before welcoming your baby into my home, it is essentiel that we take the time to meet, talk, and CREATE TOGETHER AN APPROACH THAT FEELS RIGHT FOR YOUR AND YOUR FAMILY.

We then meet in my home with your baby, taking the time to talk, get to know one another, and for me to introduce you to how Mamas' Pause work.
This meeting is also an opportunity for me to get to know your baby, their rhythm, and your family's routines, but above all, to understand what matters most to you in the support Mamas' Pause will provide.

3- Setting up your support

Once we've had the chance to get to know each other, if you decide that Mamas' Pause is the right fit for you and your baby, we will sign an agreement to formalise our shared commitment over a 3-month period.
Your baby's place is then reserved each week on the agreed day and time at Mamas' Pause.
Before your baby begins at Mamas' Pause, we take time for a gentle settling-in period. This gives your baby, you and me to find our bearings gradually, while helping me become familiar with your family's routines so that I can offer care that feels consistent with the habits you have already establisghed together.

Mamas' Pause

Society asks a great deal of mothers while leaving far too little space for their own needs for support and care.

As I wrote in "The reasons that led me to become a doula" which you can read on my "About me" page, I dream of a world where every woman is valued and supported throughout her journey into motherhood and parenthood - including when she becomes a full-time parent, with little or no real pause, day and night. I dream of a world where new mothers are surrounded by a community of women - friends, neighbours, family members - and by men who understand the immense importance of what unfolds during those first months with a baby. I dream of a longer parental leave, shared between both parents, properly paid and socially recognised. I dream of a society that changes the way it views children and places secure attachment and healthy development at the heart of its choices.
I also dream of a more compassionate world — one that recognises the extent of the demands and challenges of the postpartum period: sleepless nights, pressure to be the “perfect” mother, the weight of unsolicited advice, and the impact these experiences can have on the mental health of new mothers.

Until that world exists, I want to offer mothers the support they truly need in their everyday lives, according to their own journey and their real needs. Mama’s Pause helps meet this need for reliable support in a trusting environment. It allows mothers to reclaim a small part of their own time during those particularly demanding first weeks and months with a baby. Not every family has the means or the desire to have a postpartum doula come into their home every week — someone to hold space for all the mixed emotions, help with practical matters, prepare meals, or care for their baby while they take a shower or get some rest. This kind of support is invaluable, but it can sometimes remain out of reach. I also want to support mothers who wish to preserve the privacy of their home and do not want someone coming into their personal space, while still needing additional support. I offer a reliable space you can count on, one you can plan for from one week to the next, allowing you to reclaim your time, your body, and your personal space for a few hours. I offer my full humanity and my professional experience in caring for your baby, while respecting their individuality and unique needs.

Caring for a mother, allowing her to breathe, feel supported, and receive care also means recognising the importance of the care given to the baby who depends on her.

A supportive space where you can ... truly take a breath

WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO OFFER YOU WITH

What the families I have supported have to say

LAURA

I had the privilege of entrusting my son to Céline for a year, from the age of three months, and I could not have wished for a better person to support us through this first separation.
Céline is an incredibly gentle, caring person who is deeply attentive to the needs of young babies. She respects their individual rhythms and supports them with so much patience and tenderness. She creates an environment where babies feel safe, secure, and able to grow and thrive peacefully.
As a mother, I always left my son with Céline with complete confidence. I knew he was surrounded every day by attention, kindness, and warmth, which brought me a great sense of peace.
I truly believe her project will be a wonderful resource for new mothers. In those first weeks after birth, being able to entrust your baby for a few hours to someone who is so gentle, experienced, reassuring, and supportive can make such a difference.
Céline cares for babies with great respect and love, while also giving mothers precious time to breathe, rest, and take care of themselves.
I wholeheartedly recommend Céline to any family looking for someone who is deeply human, trustworthy, and passionate about the wellbeing of young babies.

KATERYNA

We were fortunate  enough to entrust our two boys to Céline when she was working as a registered childminder, when they were just three to four months old. Céline is an exceptionally gentle and caring person who has a deep respect for every baby’s individual rhythm and needs. She has a remarkable ability to strike the perfect balance between allowing children to explore at their own pace and offering age-appropriate activities that nurture their development. The daily walks, time spent outdoors, babywearing whenever it was needed, her respect for our son’s sleep, and the constant attention she gave to his wellbeing gave me complete peace of mind. She also took great care in feeding him the breast milk I expressed, which allowed me to continue breastfeeding with confidence after returning to work.
Beyond her professional skills, Céline is a deeply kind, attentive, and trustworthy person. Her professionalism is truly exceptional. The first months after welcoming a baby are often a time when parents  - especially first-time parents - can feel very isolated. Such a profound life change often leaves little room to look after yourself, attend medical appointments, manage everyday responsibilities, or simply take a few hours to breathe. Being able to leave your baby with a trusted professional, knowing they are in safe and loving hands, is an invaluable source of support.
With her unique combination of experience as both a doula and a registered childminder, Céline brings together two sets of skills that are rarely found in one person and complement each other perfectly. I truly cannot imagine anyone better suited to care for babies with such gentleness, respect, and professionalism while providing meaningful support to new parents. I am convinced that this service will bring enormous relief to many families, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to any parent. You can trust Céline with your baby completely.

Frequently asked questions

Shall we talk about it together?

Mama’s Pause is a space designed for families living locally around SARTROUVILLE (78) and who are able to bring their baby for a few hours.

Before setting up this arrangement, I invite you to book an initial DISCOVERY CALL. This conversation gives us the opportunity to get to know each other, talk about your needs, your baby’s needs, your personal situation, and answer any initial questions you may have.

This first exchange is also an opportunity to explore together whether Mama’s Pause matches your expectations and what your family is looking for.

If we both feel that this type of support is the right fit, we can then arrange a meeting in person to get to know each other more fully and gradually prepare for your baby’s first stays.

I have lived several professional lives before becoming a doula. Motherhood helped me reconnect with what truly matters. It led me towards a deeper sense of humanity and a desire to be of service.
I felt drawn to a profession where I could make a meaningful difference and use my sensitivity and empathy to support expectant and new mothers.
